Meat Liquor - 74 Welbeck Street, London
If you are a regular reader of the blog, you will know by now that anytime me and Tor go somewhere burgers are normally a sure fire thing. Last week (oh how time flies) we were in London for the Real Techniques Bold Metals Launch (look out for that post), we decided to make a quick pit stop at Meat Liquor before going to the event. Every time we go anywhere we're always looking on Instagram and Twitter to see where other bloggers recommend for food and this was one of those places.
From the outside you wouldn't know it was a burger place and the outside kind of reminded me a bit of Cocktail (yes the film which I haven't seen). Inside the lighting was dark and it was a bit of a pain trying to read the menu - however as you can see the decor was stunning. As for the burgers - Tor went for a plain burger and I had their Green Chili Burger - was it anything exciting? Nope. Personally I like to be able to see the colour of my meat and obviously due to the lighting my burger had a lovely red tinge to it.
Was the burger worth the hype around it? Nope - give me a Five Guys or Patty and Bun any day of the week. I'm in Leeds in a few weeks and was debating to go to there, however I think I'll be giving it a miss, considering there's a Five Guys in Leeds apparently.
I've still not been to Meat Liquor! The lightening doesn't look very food-photograph friendly, haha. x
ReplyDeleteI've been to the Leeds one and it was overpriced, dark and dingy, and the service was terrible, the waitresses seemed more interested in chatting and adding extra charges onto your bill, like service charges and charity. I wouldn't mind if I had been asked before. But to just force it upon you.
ReplyDeleteOh and the burgers were that small that I almost lost it in the dark! So expensive, Handmade Burger Company is way better and a millionth of the price!
