If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen this haul just after my birthday back in January, however as life and writing up other posts have gotten in the way, it's coming to you today. Thanks Moho (Holly to you though), she knew that the only place to my heart was a MAC order and it gave me the chance to pick up some bits and bobs which I've had my eyes on for a while. Now as I've had a chance to use most of these, I can also give you a first impressions too - I'm too good to you I know.
First up was a back up of one of my holy grail lipsticks - Hue, seriously if you're ever in doubt as to what colour lipstick to wear, I can guarantee that this will go with it. Even though Hue is classed as a Glaze formula, it reminds me of a cremesheen finish, as its pigmented, moisturising and lasts ages on the lips. If you want to buy a lipstick as a gift for someone, you can't go wrong with this. This is my third tube. Keeping on with the lipsticks, on a whim I picked up All Fired Up after my cousin Maxine swatched this. It's described as a matte fuchsia, however on me this has a slight raspberry undertone. I've only worn this twice, however staying power is second to none, and unlike other matte lipsticks, this doesn't dry your lips out, or emphasise dry skin on your lips.
As much as I would love to rock the Kylie Jenner lip - I can't draw to save my life, so whirl lip liner was out the question. In order to attempt to practise drawing and filling in my lips I picked up Naked Liner, as Subculture was far too dark when swatched. Naked Liner is described as a light neutral pink - basically exactly the same colour as my lips. I've only used this once and the pencil is very soft and blendable, however my lining skills are rubbish. I need to practise this pronto.
Finally after seeing so many people rave about Patina eye shadow, I decided I needed to add it to the collection. I was torn between this and Sable, however after swatching, I prefered the taupe undertones of Patina. Plus I thought that this would look good paired with Satin Taupe - however I'm yet to try it. Now I'm going to be honest here and I'm very much on the fence about this shadow, when I swatched this in the shop, I must have stuck my finger in the pan good and proper as the pay off wasn't as good as in store. To be honest I haven't had the time to actually sit and use this properly, and I need to find some flat eyeshadow brushes to apply this with to intensify the colour. I'll report back to you on this. What MAC items do you always repurchase?
