Can you imagine life before the Tangle Teezer? I've previously used the original Tangle Teezer in pink over the last few years and couldn't understand how my hairdresser could use her Tangle Teezer on my hair and remove all knots and when using mine my hair became more and more knotted. The answer - my hairdresser uses the Salon Elite. When you see both the original and the Salon Elite next to each other, the difference isn't really that visible, lets be honest.
However upon closer inspection, the Salon Elite has a mixture of both short and long bristles, unlike the original. Add in the fact that this has a centralised concave design, this helps to mould to your head shape, as well as detangling your hair much quicker. I've found that since using it, my hair can easily be untangled prior to drying, and this also works well on my hair extensions. Now there is one downside with this, and if you have a low pain threshold you may want to stick with the orginial. When you first use this on wet hair, it hurts your scalp. Personally I think this may have something to do with the way I'm using it - holding it close to my scalp and pulling, thinking I'm using my original.
If you're lucky and have fine/normal hair I would say you could probably stick with the original version. However if you have thick/coarse hair and/or prone to your hair tangling, I would recommend the Salon Elite. Also if you are thinking about buying a Tangle Teezer, you won't find them any cheaper than from Hairtrade online. I haven't been in their store at the Metro Centre, so can't comment as to whether you can pick one up there. I'm going to be doing a comparison post between the Tangle Teezer and some other similar products in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled for that. Are you a fan of the Tangle Teezer?
