I know I know this post is uber later - you will have seen photos of this on my Instagram weeks and weeks ago. However, better late than never right? A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue launch in Fenwicks, Newcastle to have an introduction to the brand and to try out Complexion Rescue before it hit the counters. If you've been in Fenwick's Beauty Hall, you will have seen the BareMinerals stand - you honestly can't miss it. Upon arrival, myself and Tor were greeted by the lovely Sarah who works on the counter in Fenwicks, and spotted fellow NE bloggers.
Unlike other events which I've been too, this event was more intimate and felt like you were having a 1-1 with the brand, which I personally prefer, Jen started the event with an overview of the brand (they're the third ranked make up brand in the UK) and gave us a full demonstration of Complexion Rescue. Did you know that BareMinerals do Girlfriend parties where you can go to the counter with your friends and get your make up done? How fab is that, especially when going to a make up counter alone can be a bit scary.
Onto Complexion Rescue itself and why there's no other product like it on the market. Firstly its marketed as a BB cream, a CC cream and a tinted moisturiser all in the one hydrating gel cream and it definitely packs a punch. Unlike other products on the market, this blends seamlessly into your face and due to the light weight consistency you can easily go up or down a shade without it being noticeable on your skin. Complexion Rescue contains mineral SPF 30, however you don't get flashback face with this - so this would be ideal for nights out. Also if you want to be a bit scientific, Complexion Rescue adds hydration to the skin - in a US study, skin hydration levels increased by 215% in one week when using this, Pretty impressive don't you think,
Sarah then took us through all of their best selling products and gave us a demo of how these can be used on Lori the model for the evening. What is impressive with BareMinerals is the fact that the their products are so pigmented, yet go onto the skin so sheer, but then you can build it up. No wonder brides normally go to BareMinerals for their wedding photos. I have to admit this has been one of my favourite events which I've been too - the staff were so knowledgeable and it was brilliant to get an insight into the brand. I'll do a separate review on the foundation shortly (once I get rid of my fake tan), however in the mean time you can see more photos of the event on my Facebook page here.
