There's one thing you can always rely on Tor for, and that's finding amazing places to eat when we go to Middlesbrough. As always she didn't let me down and we ended up in The Curing House - which is slap bang in the middle of Bedford Street, which is fast becoming the place to go for food. The Curing House is a small family run restaurant, which claims to put the experience of their customer first. By creating a modern, yet homely atmosphere you definitely feel relaxed as soon as you step inside.

Apart from the minimalist decor, I love the fact that you can literally walk in and sit wherever you want - that's a massive pet peeve of mine, where you're taken to a table, personally I prefer to choose where I sit. The Curing House focuses on different techniques of cooking and preparing your food, which is all done in house. As we went at lunchtime, we chose our food off the brunch menu, I went for the "House Style" Eggs Benedict, Lardy Scone and House Cured Bacon for £7 and Tor went for the savoury French Toast, The portion sizes here, aren't by any means large, however they definitely fill you up.

The service here was excellent, you weren't pestered by staff, however asking if everything was ok a few times as they walked past. Hands down this has to be my new favourite place to eat in Middlesbrough and I'll be returning - if you're ever in the area, you need to come here. Next up will be coming here on a night to try their Steak Night.
